Kids Korner: Lent VI – Palm Sunday (March 29th)

Read Matthew 21:1-11 with your family.

One day, Jesus and His friends came close to a big city called Jerusalem. Jesus told two of His friends to go get a donkey. Not a big, fancy horse – just a humble little donkey! Jesus wanted to ride it into the city to show everyone that He was a special king, but a kind and gentle king.

As Jesus rode in, people spread their coats and palm branches on the road and shouted, “Hosanna! Save us, Lord!” They were so excited to see Him. The whole city seemed to buzz with joy. But Jesus’ way of being a king was different – He didn’t wear a crown or have soldiers. He came with love, kindness, and a heart ready to help everyone.

Even today, we can welcome Jesus into our world, just like the people welcomed Him to Jerusalem. We can be kind, loving, and helpful, showing others what it means to follow Jesus. You can even pretend to wave a branch or spread a coat on the floor, cheering for Jesus in your own little way!
