Proper 14
Proper 14? What a strange name for the Sunday.
The green weeks after Pentecost are called “Proper”. We will count them up to week 28 this year, before we get ready to start Advent and our new Christian Year with the first purple block at the top.
During the Proper weeks, we spend time getting to know Jesus better, understanding what he taught us to do, and remembering our responsibility as Christians.

Our Story this week
Jesus walks on water

Spend time in prayer
Peter wanted to have faith in Jesus but he was too scared. Jesus used this as a teaching time to show the disciples that they have to keep working at their faith.
The best way to work on our faith is in prayer. At the beginning of the story, Jesus went into the hills to spend time with God in prayer. We can spend time with God in prayer too, and it doesn’t have to be on the top of hills.
Make a list of all the things you are worried about and ask God to help you put that worry aside. Those worries will still be there after you pray, but God will give you help in dealing with them.
