1st Sunday After Epiphany

Epiphany is the season after Christmas (the first set of green blocks), and separates the Advent/Christmas season from Lent/Easter. In Epiphany we learn about the beginnings of Jesus ministry and the calling of the disciples.

Activities
- Do you remember your baptism? If you don’t someone in your family will. Ask them about the day you were baptized. Look at pictures.
- Do you remember watching other children get baptized? Did you have questions about why they were doing that? Talk to your family about why they made the choice to baptize you.
- If you are not baptized, talk to your family about why they made the choice to not have you baptized. Were they waiting until you asked to be baptized?

- When new Christians are baptized, the congregation promises to support them and help them learn how to grow in their faith. It is a good time for the congregation to remember their own baptism and remember the promise to follow Christ. Some Christians remember their baptism by dipping their finger in water and making the sign off the cross on their foreheads. Find a bowl and fill it with a little water. You can mark the sign on your own forehead if you are alone, or your family can mark the sign on each other.
