Judeo-Christian Mythology

The word ‘myth’ does not mean false, it means a story used to explain the world long before the study of science existed. Some of those old stories continue to hold truths about the nature of God and the universe. That is why we recognize them as Scripture.

For Christians the first 11 chapters of Genesis are our ‘myths’. They answer questions like: How was the world created? Who created humans? Why?

These are not scientific stories. They are not historic stories. They are faith stories.

Read them around a campfire for the full effect. Close your eyes and imagine someone asking the questions then one of your elders answering it with story.
