5th Sunday in Lent
Lent is the long purple section. It is 40 days + 6 Sundays before Easter. It is a time to think about our choices and how we want to do better. It is also a time of prayer and giving.
Can we follow Jesus and not go to church?
Short answer is yes, we can always read the Bible, see what others are saying about Jesus and choose to follow his teachings. However, it is a lot easier when you have a group around you. Following Jesus is counter-cultural, and it is a lot easier to be counter-cultural with your friends and family and other church people doing it too, rather than doing it alone.
