1st Sunday in Easter
Easter is not one day, it is an entire seven week season. During Easter we hear the stories of how Jesus appeared to his friends after his Resurrection. The last week in Easter is when we celebrate Jesus’ Ascension into heaven.
While the image of zombies might be fun, Resurrection is not people rising out of their graves. It is renewed life in a body we might not recognize until someone talks.
On this first day of Easter we celebrate Jesus being Resurrected. He has new life. This is why we talk about worshipping a Living God. Death is not the end – that is the promise for all of us.
