Kids Korner: Thomas has doubts (April 11th)

2nd Sunday in Easter

Easter is not one day, it is an entire seven week season. During Easter we hear the stories of how Jesus appeared to his friends after his Resurrection. The last week in Easter is when we celebrate Jesus’ Ascension into heaven.

Our Story

Activity

Read John 20:19-31 together. Today’s story talks about faith in Jesus and how to have faith when we can’t touch Jesus’ hands with our hands.

There are two ways to develop faith. One is prayer and one is talking about God with your family and people you trust. Ask the adults in your world some questions. What do they think God is like? What do you think God is like? Why is God important in your life? What other questions do you have?

Activity

One of the parts of our faith is called Confession. This is when we pray to God about the things we know we should have done better, and we ask God for help making better choices next time.

There are two ways to take responsibility for things we should do better: one is how we behave and the second is how our community and culture behaves. Personally, are you nice to your siblings? Are you honest? In your community, do you take care of the environment? Are you mean to people who are different than you?

Write or draw a prayer of confession showing what you known you need to do better and asking God to help.
