Kids Korner: Welcoming Jesus (June 28th)

Read Matthew 10:40-42 with your family.

Have you ever had someone make you feel really welcome? Maybe they smiled when you walked in, saved you a seat, shared a snack, or invited you to play. Those little things can make a person feel like they matter.

In today’s Bible reading, Jesus says that when we welcome other people, we are also welcoming him. That doesn’t mean we have to have a big house or cook a fancy meal. We can welcome people with kind words, a smile, a helping hand, or by making sure no one is left out. Even giving someone a cup of cold water because they are thirsty is something Jesus notices.

Being kind isn’t always about doing big, exciting things. Most of the time, it is the small choices we make every day. We can sit beside someone who is lonely, invite a new person to join our game, or help someone carry something heavy. Those little acts of love can make a big difference.

This week, look for one person you can welcome. You might be surprised how much joy can fit inside one simple act of kindness. Who can you help feel welcome today?
