Read Matthew 13:1-9, 18-23 with your family.

Jesus explained that the different kinds of soil are like the different ways people respond to God’s message. Sometimes we hear something good but forget it quickly. Sometimes we are excited at first, but when life becomes difficult, we give up. Other times, our worries or the things we want can get in the way of loving God and others.

The good soil reminds us that our hearts can be ready to receive God’s love. When we listen, learn, and keep trusting God, that love begins to grow. Just like a tiny seed becomes a strong plant, small acts of kindness, courage, and faith can grow into something wonderful.

The good news is that God never gives up on people. God keeps sharing love, hope, and forgiveness with everyone. Each day is a new chance to listen, grow, and become the kind of person who shares God’s love with the world.
