Activity

Read John 12:20-33 together. Jesus used the word ‘glorify’ a lot in today’s story. Do you know what that word means? It means to worship, to spend time thinking about Jesus and to be happy that you are learning more about Jesus all the time.

There are a lot of ways to worship Jesus. Some ideas are: songs, poems, pictures, art work, dancing, stories and prayer. Pick one or more of these and show how you want to worship Jesus. Think about how you want to share your worship with the other people in your family and in your church.

Activity

In today’s story Jesus compared himself to a seed that has to die when it’s planted in the ground so that new flowers or fruit can grow. Do you remember the egg carton we decorated several weeks ago? It is now time to use it as a planter. (It is okay if you don’t have it anymore, you can use another egg carton.)

Find seeds that you want to plant, soil and a watering can with some water. It can be any seed you want. Plant the seed and put it in a safe place, Soon your seed will grow.

Jesus was teaching that the seed grows like faith grows. If we keep the seed all to ourselves, it will never change or become something beautiful. We have to put the seed in the soil, and we have to share Jesus teaching with others. Then when others learn about Jesus, everyone learns and grows in their faith.
